Inviting your team and member roles
The short version
You can invite colleagues to your Alum+ organisation to be an admin or a member. Admins have full control (directory, users, billing); members have view-only access. An organisation can have up to 2 admins and 8 members.
What's the difference between an admin and a member?
- Admins have full control. Manage the directory (add, edit, remove profiles), invite and remove users, rename the organisation, and handle billing.
- Members have view-only access. Browse the directory, Activity, Calendar and everything the research finds, but can't change the directory or open Organisation settings.
Both roles see and work with records the same way (filtering, flagging, reporting, exporting). The difference is only who can change the setup.
How do I invite someone?
As an admin, go to Organisation settings → Users → Add user, enter their email, and choose their role. They'll get an email invitation to join.
How many people can be on my team?
An organisation can have up to 2 admins and 8 members, and always has at least one admin.
What else should I know about invitations?
- An invitation expires after 7 days. If it lapses, just send a new one.
- A colleague only starts receiving Alum+ emails (like the weekly Monday Morning Briefing) once they've accepted the invite and logged in. Until then, they show as "Pending" and aren't a member yet.
- If someone already belongs to another organisation on Alum+, their invite is blocked. Ask them to remove themselves from that organisation first, and then you'll be able to invite them.
